Golden Rule

One night I met a girl, I never got her name

She said she might take me home if I bought her a drink

The night went on and on, I thought I'd left her mind

But when she called a cab, she pulled me inside

She started getting naked

Climbed on me and said

She's already got a man

But I'm already in her bed

Oh, no, here we go,

She heard my song on the radio

I don't know your name

And if it's all the same

She came inside, she went for a ride

And then she told me that she loved me

And I said that that was cool

But I won't break the golden rule

I woke up all alone, ashamed of what I did

She walked into the room, just wearing my jacket

She closed the shades again, I heard her lock the door

She turned around to say, "I know you want some more"

She's already naked

I just heard what she said

She's still got a man

But he's not the one in her bed

Oh, no, here we go,

She heard my song on the radio

I don't know your name

And if it's all the same

She came inside, she went for a ride

And then she told me that she loved me

And I said that that was cool

But I won't break the golden rule

Same night, with a different girl

Quick escape from a simple world

Everything she thought she knew

Forgot about it all

Got up 'cause I had to pack

Grabbed my arm tried to hold me back

I didn't hear a word she said

'Cause I was already in her bed

Oh, no, here we go,

She heard my song on the radio

I don't know your name

And if it's all the same

She came inside, she went for a ride

And then she told me that she loved me

And I said that that was cool

But I won't break the golden rule
